Servicing and Sharpening Knives and Blades

Knives, axes, secateurs and all similar blades are sharpened on a water cooled belt to ensure that the steel NEVER overheats, which is critical. They are then honed and polished on buffing wheels, which delivers a very sharp, polished, professional result. Any blade damage, such as broken tips, badly notched cutting edges etc., is completely repaired at no extra cost.

Scissors and Shears

cissors and shears of all types are sharpened on a specifically designed machine to deliver an even, sharp, satisfactory result. Also I provide a dedicated service for hairdressers, who require a very high level of polish, balance and durability for their scissors.

Pet Grooming

Pet grooming clipper blades form a significant part of my business. The blades are taken apart, sharpened on a purpose built flat disc machine then washed, cleaned and dried before being re-assembled. They are then tested before being returned. My clients include many professional dog and cat groomers, private individuals and veterinary clinics.

Chisels and Plane Irons

A slow moving wet grinding wheel does an excellent job on chisels and plane irons. After sharpening they are honed and polished on a rotary leather strap to deliver a very straight, sharp and useable edge. Can also do a very good job on drill bits with this system.
